Murano Venetian Glass
All of the Murano glass used to produce Bliss jewellery is sourced directly from the crafts men and women who work on the island of Murano, Venice, Italy. Hand selected in person by our designer Kimberley Turner. The artisans of Murano are struggling with an ever increasing trade of so called murano venetian glass which is produced in, and imported from, China and Rumania. Once you have seen a true hand made piece of Murano glass you never forget the beauty of the piece.
Vegetable Ivory
The palm seed known as vegetable ivory [Phytelephas Macrocarpa], coming from the Amazon Jungle in Latin-America. It is called this because of its colour; hardness and density are very similar to animal ivory. These properties make these amazing seeds the only natural and 100% sustainable alternative for ivory. Before the palm seed can be worked, the seeds must be allowed to dry naturally to gain the hardness required to be carved. This drying time can go to up to twenty years.
Balinese Silver
All of the balinese silver used by Bliss is sourced from fair trade registered suppliers. This ensures the quality of the silver pieces is of the highest standard and that the artisans who create every individual piece by hand are paid a fair price for their work. All of the balinese pieces are 97% silver or higher.
Natural Semi Precious Stones
We source our semi precious stones in small quantities from all over the world. This means we are not always able to recreate a design to the exact colour and shape specification due to each batch we purchase being slightly different than the last. As the stones are natural there are no two exactly the same and variations are inevitable.
Fine Silver
Our fine silver is 99% silver and all pieces are handmade by our designer Kimberley Turner in her London studio. All items are one of a kind pieces and commissions are welcome.
